Men's Group Reboot!
One might wonder how men's ministry is any different from a woman's ministry or for that matter, any kind of ministry. After all, it would seem that ministry, if done in service for the Lord, is all the same regardless of the gender, age, or race of the individual serving. Men's Ministry is the active pursuit of men in order to connect them to God, His Word, and other men for the purpose of winning, growing, and training God's man in Christ.
There will be one event in March (Axe Throwing) and one in April (Bowling). Plans are being made for a retreat in early May (at Camp Kuriakos)
The Care and Compassion Team
of Riverbend Lutheran Church recognizes that strength from within the church body will allow us to be more effective beacons of light in our community. The team exists to provide support to our church families who may be hurting and need some assistance. Some of those needs include:
• Dealing with physical and emotional illness
• Dealing with the death and loss
• Dealing with significant life changes at home, like the birth of a baby
• Care and assistance provided might include:
• Providing meals (or baking/snacks)
• Visitation in the home or hospital
• Cards, flowers, phone calls, or emails to provide encouragement
• Child care to provide respite care
• Transportation (to appointments, grocery stores....)
If you know of anyone who might benefit from assistance, or if you would like to become involved in the Care and Compassion Team, please contact Pastor Sye at 780 430 7382.
